Broward County's LIDAR data and documentation is available on Florida International University's web site.
This data was flown in 2000 as part of a project to update the SLOSH surge model for hurricane storm water inundation by the Broward County Emergency Management Division. the original project scope was to fly from I-95 to the beaches all along the coast (the eastern 1/4 of the county) but was updated to include the county west to I-75, where it abutted to theArmy Corp of Engineers' LIDAR project from I-75 west to the County's western boundary.
The new 2007 LiDAR data is also available; FIU has provided tile-by-tile download of LAS and metadata files from the Florida
Coastal LiDAR project. Counties available for download include coastal Broward, parts of Clay, coastal Charlotte, parts of Collier, coastal
Escambia, parts of Flagler, Franklin, parts of Glades, Gulf, parts of Hendry,
parts of Hillsborough, coastal Indian River, parts of Lee, coastal Manatee,
coastal Martin, coastal Miami-Dade, parts of Monroe, parts of Palm Beach,
coastal Pasco, Pinellas, coastal Santa Rosa, coastal Sarasota, coastal St.
Lucie, Wakulla, and coastal Walton. Efforts are ongoing to add Okaloosa, Bay,
Jefferson, Dixie, Taylor, Levy, and Brevard.
